India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C61) mission suffered a rare setback early Sunday morning when an anomaly in its third-stage propulsion system led to the failure of the EOS-09 Earth observation satellite launch. The rocket lifted off at 5:59 a.m. IST from Sriharikota's Satish Dhawan Space Centre but veered off trajectory during the PS3 solid rocket motor phase, forcing ISRO to terminate the mission.
