Metra and John Burns Construction Company have been hard at work building the new Auburn Park Metra station on the Rock Island Line. Over the weekend of Aug. 9, 2025, crews performed a track cutover where they cut existing track and physically moved it over several yards to newly built track panels, making room for the future station to be built.
