In a dramatic exercise of his coveted endorsement, Trump is backing all the Republican state lawmakers who voted for Gov. Greg Abbott’s priority bill on school vouchers and who are seeking reelection.
The bill also called for the plan to include “the use of outdoor warning sirens,” like those used in tornado-prone Texas counties, and develop new “emergency alert systems.”
$500 million was the initial figure associated with SB 22, but the House amended the bill to only allow for $300 million in film incentives. The new film incentive program begins on Sept. 1, 2025, and ends on Sept. 1, 2031.
