American rapper and producer Snoop Dogg has become an investor with Welsh side Swansea City, the Championship club said on Thursday, with the songwriter joining Croatian midfielder Luka Modric as a co-owner.

Snoop Dogg is set to make his first commercial venture as a minority investor in Swansea City - by launching a brand new beer. The beer is set to be launched in partnership with the Swans, who recently confirmed the rapper had purchased a stake in the club.

An athlete has died after competing in the Ironman 70.3 Swansea triathlon event last weekend, organisers have said. In a statement, Ironman Wales said the athlete received immediate medical care halfway into the swim section of the race on Sunday 13 July, after swim safety officials noticed they were in difficulty.
