State police said they are investigating a possible shooting that happened Tuesday night on Interstate 96 on Detroit's west side. Dispatchers at about 11 p.m. Tuesday received a call reporting that two male gunshot victims had arrived at a hospital and told staff they were wounded while traveling on I-96, officials said.

Detroit police have arrested a man suspected of shooting and injuring two people at last month's Ford Fireworks in Detroit. The shooting happened at around 10:04 p.m. on June 23 in the area of Randolph and Larned streets. Police arrested 19-year-old Alphonso Cooper at a residence in Washtenaw County Monday afternoon.
