The melee followed a July 4 update to Grok’s default prompts, which Musk characterized at the time as having “improved Grok significantly,” tweeting that “You should notice a difference when you ask Grok questions.
The access ban marked the first AI content censorship in Turkey, stemming from offensive material targeting the Turkish president, religious values, and the country’s founder.
The ban was based on Turkish laws that criminalise insults to state leaders and religious sentiment — offences that could carry jail terms of up to four years.
