FREEPORT, Maine — The Freeport-based company L.L.Bean says it will be laying off customer service staff and reducing call center hours in response to more people buying online.
L.L. Bean said the move is a "strategic response to long-term customer trends," and not part of any larger cuts.
Beginning July 15, the outerwear clothing and equipment company plans to reduce its call center hours by four hours a day.
