NASCAR will hold a street race on Naval Base Coronado in Southern California next June as a replacement for its downtown Chicago event that ran the last three years

Next summer's Coronado race, which came to fruition after years of careful negotiation, is the first NASCAR event to be run on an active military base.

N ASCAR is enlisting in the U.S. Navy. The stock car racing series has confirmed that it is holding an event at San Diego’s Naval Base Coronado on Father’s day weekend in 2026. All three national series will compete on a temporary three-mile-long track set up on the Naval Air Station North Island.
