The original Vision Pro was announced at WWDC 2023 and released in the US early last year. It’s powered by an M2 chip and hasn’t received an upgrade since launch. The upcoming second-generation headset, according to Gurman, will feature improvements in both performance and comfort.
Gurman says that the updated Vision Pro would ship with Apple's M4 processor, which launched in the iPad Pro last year and has since found its way into new MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, a new iMac, and a redesigned Mac mini.
Apple is planning to release the first refresh of the Vision Pro headset, according to reporting by Bloomberg. Industry analyst Mark Gurman suggests that the updated gadget could come as early as this year.
According to Apple’s website, the M1 Pro 14″ MacBook Pro can handle up to 11 hours of web browsing on a single charge. With an M4 14″ MacBook Pro, you can get up to 16 hours. That’s a nearly 50% improvement – just in that one metric.
The specific deal applies to the base model of the MacBook Air, which now comes with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage as standard.
