Zootopia 2's record-shattering opening guarantees Disney will finish 2025 with three of the top-five biggest movies of the year and rule the Christmas box office season.

"Zootopia 2" directors Jared Bush and Byron Howard on paying homage to "The Shining" and "The Silence of the Lambs."

Only “Moana 2” has had a better opening weekend over the Thanksgiving holiday, grossing $225 million last year.

Incredibly, within just five days, Zootopia 2 has already outgrossed the entire Chinese run of the first Zootopia ($236 million). The franchise’s popularity has exploded in the region since the opening of Zootopia Land at Shanghai Disneyland, which has supercharged fan engagement.
