The remarks offer the starkest signs yet of the president’s souring relationship with the Russian leader, who he now views as the major impediment to ending the war in Ukraine.

“We’re not happy with Putin,” Trump told reporters. “I’m not happy with Putin — I can tell you that much right now, cause he’s killing a lot of people. And a lot of them are his soldiers. His soldiers, and their soldiers, mostly.”
