A recall of organic, bagged whole and baby carrots sold at Trader Joe's, Publix, Wegmans and other retailers around the country has been linked to an E. coli outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. E. coli is a bacteria that can cause serious illness when consumed by certain populations.

Grimmway Farms voluntarily recalled some organic whole carrots and baby carrots after the CDC found that they may be associated with an outbreak.

Grimmway Farms, based in Bakersfield, has recalled the carrots, which included whole and baby organic carrots sold in bags under multiple brand names.
