MINNEAPOLIS — State Senator Omar Fateh, who had positioned himself as the most progressive of the mayoral candidates for Minneapolis, won the DFL's endorsement over incumbent Jacob Frey.

During the DFL convention on Saturday, State Sen. Omar Fateh, who’s running as a democratic socialist, won the party's endorsement, gaining at least 60 percent of the vote.

State Sen. Omar Fateh won the DFL endorsement with more than 60 percent of the vote. Incumbent Mayor Jacob Frey says he will challenge the endorsement.
